I noticed the Location Services icon is constantly active on the status bar. I checked the Privacy settings and the culprit is the Weather app which has a purple arrow indicating it is recently used. It is the only purple arrow I have. I have tried shutting it off (choosing never allow) but even after waiting a few hours, it is still highlighted purple and the status bar keeps showing the arrow. What gives?

This happened to my Ipad, I just turned off networking and wireless in that same submenu. Since I don't have the U1 chip, it wont make a huge difference.

Got an AppleWatch? If so, do you use a weather-related complication? That might be the cause of the continuous location icon.

I have an Apple Watch but it has been turned off all day.

Edit - Thanks. So it looks like I do have the weather complication and when I turned on my Apple Watch, the location services icon went away on my iPhone. I guess when I turned off my Apple Watch (like I do every night), the iPhone must have been stuck in limbo looking for the Watch.
