I never use location services. Ever. I used it one time to play with when I first got a phone that had it, and then have never used it since. So therefore i have no need for location services to be on. When I was setting up my iPhone and I was going through the settings, I got to location services, clicked on it, saw that it had settings underneath it, and simply just turned it off completely since I knew i would never use it. When I turned it off, all those other settings just disappeared.

Today I was reading an article that explained all the options in the settings, like giving certain apps privileges to run all the time, never, to ask, etc. Then it went into the system services location settings and showed the whole laundry list of settings in there. Now, I never turned any of these off, because as I said, I just turned location services off and moved on, so by default all of these settings are still enabled. My aim is for best battery life in a device. Am I correct in assuming that when I disabled location services completely, that all of those settings were disabled by default since the whole service was disabled completely or should I play it safe and turn location services on, turn all the individual settings off, and then turn location services back off completely?

this is a iPhone you're using not some samsung, turn on the location services that you need, you can set most of them to allow when using app, you wont notice battery drain, I've got a lot of apps using location services, battery life on my 12 pro max is still awesome.

This isn't android where your battery life depletes if you don't disable a thousands apps and settings.

Setup the phone the way you like and enjoy. no need to tinker with a thousand settings like on samsung phones so you can get better performance and battery life.

Any Map app will need the GPS ON to work - which requires Location Services to be on and that particular app set to access it. All other apps can be turned off.
The only setting that should be left on in System Services is Find My iPhone and Motion Calibration. All others can be turned off.
If Location Services is turned off, every setting inside it is turned off too, including all system services.

Don't disable Location Services to try to save battery power. You won't notice a difference. Turn it off to try to prevent apps from tracking you.
