I just noticed that if you have a missed call on the lock screen you can slide it and it will dial the number without asking for the unlock code....thats not good! That means if someone stole your phone they could dial a number from the lock screen then conference in another call and hang up on the first call.

Everything else asks for the lock code when you slide. Hopefully this is addressed soon.

That was purposely done so that you can return a call without having to unlock. You can also take a picture without unlocking the phone but you can only review the pictures you took and cannot see the rest of the photo album.

The scenario you posted about dialing that number, conference calling someone else, and then hanging up on the first call just to use the phone is a little far fetched, don't you think?

No different to the 'thief' answering the phone when it rings, that also doesn't need passcode unlock, but only allows the call.

I used "slide to read" on an email notification earlier and after I had read the message, I hit the home button and it bypassed the passcode lock which is worrying. It didn't ask for the passcode before reading the email either.
