Lock when in iPod mode, why?

I set my iPhone to use PW lock in 2 min. This is good when not in use, but NOT when in iPod mode. It requires PW to unlock for access to controls. Is there is way to turn it off in iPod mode only?

Anyone else find this annoying?

double click home button brings up ipod controls...

When it is locked you can double click the Home button to access the controls.

I had it set to home due to the security flaw. That may be why it goes to unlock keypad.
