I'm thinking about buying 30 Mac Minis for a school. Theft hasn't been a problem, but I'd still like a way to keep them from disappearing. Does anybody have a recommendation for a secure desk mount that isn't too expensive? I'm hoping to find one for around $20.

I havent seen to many security mounts under 50 dollars. most are around that. you might get away with 20 dollars a piece if you use a cable lock. however even the half decent cable locks that are not crap are 50 dollars. the memory is especially at risk since you can remove the bottom without a screwdriver. they can simply open it and take it.

this can be used with or without a cable. but its not 20 bucks thats for sure.

Unfortunately $20 seems out of the question for most of the ones I have seen. Since the Mini does not have a Security Lock, your only other option is to go with something that will more or less encase the Mini....

Something like this: http://www.maclocks.com/macmini-security-cable-lock.html?gclid=CNLGvePD67UCFQ6EnQodwDYA0g

Apparently the Mini Mount has a security "screw"... So if you don't need something very secure but rather something just to deter you could go a little cheaper with this:

I'd place them in some kind of metal mount that locks them away under the desk. That way no one can mess with them either.

What....

about a computer cage, box or enclosure? Some two years ago I bought 3 metalic enclosures for minis. But I dont remember the specifics about brand/models/price, tough....

The H-Squared Mini Mount might be worth a shot, at least if you can bolt them down under the table or similar. Otherwise, it pretty much boils down to the Tryten Security Mount.
However, I suppose that you can still get the Mini out of the latter, if you use enough force and don't mind scratches, as the band just grabs the edges instead of going around the whole Mac Mini. But you can get a master key for them, so at least it's less hassle to manage them.
