I've got myself an iphone 4, and have upgraded to Ios5, I have the notifications for emails to appear on my lock screen but hide the message content.

Whats confusing me is sometimes when I unlock the screen it will take me to the email, but other times it will take me to the homescreen.

Is this normal behaviour? Surely it should go to one or the other but not both?

Can any one help?

Thanks.

A regular unlock should got to your home screen, swiping the notification should take you to that item.

if you just got the notification and you screen lights up, the unlock will open the app the notification is from. Your screen will turn off after 5 seconds or so, if you unlock after that it will just open the phone.

Now if you have notifications on your lock screen from earlier you can also swipe each app icon to go directly into the app.

Thats the difference then if I want to go to the home screen just wait.

Thank you

Yep, you will just have to wait. Next time check out the actual words at the bottom. They change from slide to unlock to slide to ____ for different notifications. I believe SMS says slide to reply and email says slide to read.
