I've gone through the Notifications settings in the settings app and set up everything to show up as a banner, but when I get text messages, they still show up as alerts on the lock screen. I thought they were supposed to show up listed under the time and would allow me to swipe right into the app?

Is there another settings panel that this can be found in? Or something else I have to turn on or off?

When I first get notified it appears as an alert, but if you ignore it and come back it then appears as a banner.

You can slide the icon to the right wether it be the initial pop-up, or after it has "dropped" down into the lock screen.

The pop-up, banner, or none of the above options are for when the phone is unlocked and in use.

i was wondering the same thing. so do you have to have multiple notifications for the lock screen to show up with the banners then? i was surprised as well when i got a message and it popped up as a single pop up box and not a banner underneath the time/weather.

No when it first shows up its like a pop up. But then if you ignore it and don't unlock your phone, the next time you "wake up" your phone it's in a list format.

Next time you get a text message while the phone is locked, before you unlock, press the power/lock botton. After it goes dark, press the power/lock again and see what happens. It will be integrated into the lock screen like a list. The same thing happens if you just ignore the text and let the phone go black on its own.

If you get multiple notifications while the phone is locked, they will all show up integrated into the lock screen.

i see. thanks for the info

I don't get the weather on the lock screen I have it enabled though. My lockscreen looks like it always does unless I have missed a call or such.

Nobody has weather in the lock screen. It's only in the notification center, which is only available when the phone is unlocked.

As far as notifications go, I agree. After using lockinfo notifications through jailbreaking, apples version of notifications is just a horrible watered down version.

that was one of the main things I jailbroke my phone for. This is what gets me about apple they give you a little of something while others give you the whole enchilada.
