Hello,

I just formatted my iMac and installed the new OS X Yosemite.
And I was wondering how can I set after how long time of not touching the iMac, my Yosemite's user will log out and then when I move the mouse again it'll ask me for the password.

I had it before.

Thank you very much

Hello,

see System Preferences / Security & Privacy / General, "Advanced".

Thanks,
I did it but I am having two problems:
1. Sometimes when my screen turns off and I move the mouse or wake it up it doesn't ask for my password and sometimes it does.
2. Every time it turns the screen off it logs out my account and quits all my applications and I would like it to keep them open. for example, Skype on away and etc like it was before...
How can I fix that?

Thank you very much!

I believe you are asking about 2 different options. The first is in System Prefs >General. There is an option to require a password after sleeping. Sleep starts after a timeout you set in Energy Saver Preferences.

The other option is in System Prefs > General > Advanced where you can set an inactivity timeout period for Logoff.
