Logging into secure sites.

So, I use a credit union that has a fairly basic web interface, And for the most part it works great. One thing I've found out is that mobile safari will not log in to this banks site though. I did find that "myfox" does.

Anyone have any ideas as to why myfox can get in but safari has an authentication error every time?

(Cleared History, Cookies, and Cache + set bookmarks to all allowed, Still no dice)

Seems strange, anyway you can use a friends device or one at a local Apple store to try and login?

Tried it via my wife's un-jailbroken iphone. Works fine from there. So I think it has something to do with mine being jailbroken.

Does anyone know if the jailbreaking process changes safari in any way on the phone?

are you sure you're using the same domain name on both phones? many websites (even reputable ones) have misconfigured their webservers -- an SSL certificate is only valid for one domain, and the domain in the URL http://[b]www.example.com[/b] is not the same domain as in http://[b]example.com[/b]. if the server is not redirecting you automatically to the domain for which the certificate is issued, but is sending the same key material anyway, then your browser (any browser) is going to complain about the mismatched domain name.

i haven't noticed SSL difficulties on jailbroken firmwares. i *do* however often connect to SSL sites that use self-signed certificates, and safari requires that i accept the certificate each time.

well, here's where it gets fun, I went ahead and restored the iphone to see how things went, And was able to connect just fine with the stock firmware. Ran quickpwn to jailbreak, and could still connect. After installing each app I would test and it continued to log in just fine, for the first few apps at least. But I stopped testing after I figured all was fine. The few apps I installed afterwards were OpenSSH, and some Winterboard themes, Also stacks (which I did not have installed before).

I'm wondering if something with OpenSSH is causing the issue? Would seem un-likely but I might have to remove it to test and see what happens...

Ok, well I just decided to use 1Password tied with my macbook pro account version to do the job, It logs in fine and provides a good security measure too, Two codes are needed to view the site. Hell, thats better security then the website itself offers!
