hey folks...

i know theres a lot of logic board discussion but i couldnt find an answer to this by searching thru forum... any help would be greatly appreciated...

my ibookg4 logic board is toast... apple store replaced and said my serial # is out of range of logic board replacement program and charged me $300. i havent picked it up yet. anyone have a similar problem and ave any luck not having to pay for repair? if so, how?

seems weird that its a KNOWN issue but replacement program wouldnt cover...

friend of mine had the same thing happen to him and he is pretty tick about it. And after he paid the 300 bucks to have it fixed the problem was still there.

He was even more fustrated when he learn how much I paid 3 year ago to have the moboboard replaced in my gateway laptop.

He paid 300 bucks total (part being 150). I paid 150 bucks total part being 130-140ish. He kind of tick that he paid almost 150 in labor and thinks it is a complete rip off (And I quite frankly agree with him on that. Really bad when a simlure job is done by gate way and I pay 50% of what he paid and my part costed about the same)

They should have informed you of the charges before hand not done the repair and then told you it was out of warranty. I would demand that they return it to its original state and then just order the part myself and do the replacement. Maybe when you say that they will drop the labor charges. If apple wont let you order the part then somewhere online should have them I imagine.
