Hello,
I upgraded to Sonoma 14.7.1 yesterday. This morning I tried to start Logic Pro 11.0.1 from the application folder but it was hanging. Then I installed Logic Pro 11.1 ... Same thing happened. I tried to restart Logic using ctrl key ... same thing ...

So now I cannot start Logic from the applications folder or from recent items menu.

The strange thing is that when I double click on a Logic Project , Logic is started normally.

Any idea?

One you are in Logic, cmd+N to get tothe 'Choose a project' screen, then pick one of the options on the left, e.g. 'Project Templates. Pick a template. Close it without saving, exit Logic and then reopen. I tried several of the options on the left, e.g. Tuttorial, Recent (which is still empty for me, but that's a whole other bug people are encountering at the moment!) or just New Project. Create or open a file from there and come out without saving. After a few attempts, Logic must have rewritten a preference file or something and opened normally for me and reached the 'Choose a Project' screen instantly again. Before it wasn't crashing outright for me, but taking nearly a minute to get to that screen after launching and doing the plugin check.

I did this and got the message: "Successfully reset All approval status for com.apple.logic10"
Then I started Logic Pro - it asked for access to microphone and then ...it hangs ...

I see following messages after start of Logic:

not sure if they are all (except first one) related to Logic...

BTW I noticed while I was researching the logs , that Logic eventually starts ...after 20 or 30 minutes ...

BTW after starting Logic and while it is hanging I see a lot of messages in the log to do with com.apple.scopedbookmarksagent.xpc and also when Logic then finally starts, it does not open the project I had last opened but gives me the "Choose a project" window ... (although the startup action is "Open Most Recent Project")
Also when I click on the Recent tab in that window there are no projects in there

I changed the "Startup action" in "Settings" to "Do Nothing" and then Logic starts up normally .
Then when I look at the "File - Open Recent" - there is a blank gap and then about 20 file names. When I tried to open them, Logic says it cannot find the file.

I open a couple of exiting projects but in "File - Most Recent", they are not visible - there is just a blank gap?

I selected "Clear Menu" in "File - Open Recent" and now that stays blank ... it does not save recent projects in there...

Also I noticed that saving a project takes longer than before (in Ventura and Logic 11.0.1)

Try to delete (move to Desktop) ~/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/com.apple.logic10.sfl3

BTW thanks for your effort trying to sort this mess out :)
Sofar this is the worst upgrade I did and maybe I have not found everything yet ...

I deleted the file but it did not make a difference ...

Another idea…if you haven't already…is to visit:

and see if any of the MANY issues people are experiencing relate to yours.

I did the following actions:
- signed off Apple Account;
- turned off the Internet;
- ran OnyX - maintenance

No change - still cannot see recent projects and saving takes a long time (30 seconds)

I am waiting with app cleaner - maybe something else will pop up ...

I will check some posts that complain about Recent Files issues

I wonder if it is a bug? Following shows other people have same issues:

No solution so far ...

I saw on one of the posts about missing "recent projects" that somebody used another username ...so I did this: created a dummy test user with admin privileges, logged in with that user, started Logic and voila, everything works fine under that user ... so no bug but something to do with user settings ...

Does that only work whilst you are logged in as the new user, and it is it still broken whn you log back with your original user account, or does it fix it for that too?

only worked for the new user ...existing user still broken ..

Next I deleted the file com.apple.logic10.sfl3 which can be found in /Users/(myusername)/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments and then restarting logic a few times but that did not mend it
