Hi. I work at a school that uses Macs. This particular mac I am talking about is an iMac, not very old at all.

The problem is sometimes switching from one user to another, we are able to type in a password, but the login and back buttons are disabled, like you are not able to click on them. It is basically frozen and we have to manually shut it down.

Any ideas?

I'd check under the Security and Accounts System Preference pane. I know there's an option for kiosk mode or removing those buttons in there.

its kind of like it freezes up. it doesnt always do it, but sometimes just sits there.
