Hello!
So I followed the definitive guide to upgrade my iPhone to a jailbroke version of 1.1.3.
I had a perfectly clean iPhone, never jailbroke it or anything and even ran the apple 1.1.3 for a while perfectly happy.
Yesterday I was convinced by a friend to jailbreak my iphone and then just restore it to apples firmware if I didnt like it.

I love it.

Problem.
When I run the VT100 app, it asks me for a password?
If I type alpine (the root pwd) it says login failed then asks for a username followed by a password.

Leaving either blank doesn't help.

Any idea what this is or how to fix it?

I can SSH in remotely as root, go figure...

Regards

The password 'apline' probably doesn't apply tp 1.1.3 anymore. That was for 1.1.2 while 1.1.1 had to use 'dottie'.

Since your jb'd you can install SSH services from the installer, and change the root password from there.

I am warned about changing the password in 1.1.3 by the Installer.app.
It says you will break springboard if you do that.
