I installed a Logitech Brio webcam when I moved from my ATDs to my LG monitors. It connects via a USB-C on the back of the webcam, to a USB-A port.
It works in all my collaboration tools, FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, Teams, etc., and the image and sound is great.
However, I have to connect the Brio via my external CalDigit Elements Hub, otherwise, I get very noticeable interference in the sound.
If I for instance connect the same cable to my Mac Studio, a second into a FaceTime call, the other folks on the call cannot hear me at all, they are just getting a humm. I move the cable to my Elements Hub, and all is fine.
I tried with a USB-C to USB-C cable as well, and the result was the same; when the Brio is connected directly to my Mac Studio, any call will result in a humm on the recipient's side (video is fine), and if I connect via a Hub, be it my monitor or my Elements Hub, all is fine.
What gives?
