Since a few weeks I'm experiencing annoying stutter/lag when using my Logitech M705 mouse.

My setup us as follows: Macbook Air (2018) running Mojave 10.14.6 with a satechi usb-c multimedia hub. The logitech USB receiver is connected through the hub.

This has been working perfect since I got this macbook a year a go, but now I'm experiencing stutter when using the mouse. It seems to have started since installing the plagued 2020-005 security update, but after installing the supplemental fix things haven't changed. Logitech Control Center is at version 3.9.12. I reinstalled 2020-005 update, but that didn't make a difference either. Changed the batteries, no difference.
I contacted logitech support, but they referred me to their general FAQ without succes.

Does anyone have a suggestion? I planned on staying on Mojave until Big Sur reaches maturity and skipping Catalina altogether.

Unfortunately no solution from me, but wanted to add you're not alone. I've been experiencing something similar as well on my MX Master after the recent Logi update (also running the OS update: 18G6032). For me, the stutter/delay is more noticeable when the cursor is on an external monitor. I'm also using the USB receiver (directly connected to my MBP) as opposed to Bluetooth since I've found it more stable since the beginning. The main issue is that the lag doesn't occur often enough to properly diagnose (maybe once/twice in a day). The USB port on my MBP is a bit flimsy (you can jiggle the receiver with your finger tip and it'll shift around) so that could also be exacerbating the problem.

Thanks for your reply. In the mean time I did an SMC reset without result. Also I now connected my power adapter directly to the USB-C hub as is instructed by Satechi (before I used one USB-C port for charging, and one for the USB-C hub). Too short to see if that's working. Also just saw that security update 2020-006 is released. Might give that a try after the weekend.
