hey i own a macbookpro and a 09 imac. the speakers are sucky and i want LOGITECHS ONLY as i hav to replace an old logitec that a cousin broke. im looking at z506 but its not availible yet.. the x540 is great but ugly.. any other speakers that are 2.1 and cheaper but close to these speakers? just as long i can listen to audio 3-5 times better im happy

I have the Logitech x540, and while they're not the prettiest speakers in the world, they work quite well for me. I have them hooked up to my iMac via Firewave, which is now discontinued as I understand it. You may have to look for speaker system with optical in, such as on the Logitech Z-5500 (which I use with my TV/home cinema set up). Those speakers are prettier and the whole system is more powerful.
I recommend both!

I have had them for nigh 5 years, and would still chose them over anything else logitech currently offer. The 5.1 systems are too much i think, more power than you'll ever use, 2.1 is just right for a computer setup. They've even put phase plugs in the satellites! Check out reviews on them, nothing but good news.

the x540s produce some very good sounds for the price. i have a set of them and x240s (also great) and the bass response is right on par with what you would expect for the price.
