Just bought the logitech z-5500 5.1 speakers from Dell ($212 shipped) they should be at my house on thursday. I can't wait, I've heard so many great thing about these speakers. Anyway, is there any special optical cable I should buy or can I just get one from Walmart or Amazon.com?

You can get and optical cable from walmart. If you have a powermac, then it will work just by connecting the cables, but if you have a imac then you will need to get a optical mini adapter like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00003CWA9/104-9345864-5986312?v=glance&n=172282&v=glance that has the mini at one end and plug it into your imac, but if you have a emac, mac mini, or a book, then you gotta get an external sound card to get REAL surround sound, or you will have stereo coming from just two speakers and the sub.....surround sound isn't everything its cracked up to be.

LOL, yeah I know. And the thing is I really don't have a desk yet. I'm using my Powermac box as my desk at the moment and a book shelf for my monitor. I will definetly need to get a desk soon!:D
