Does anyone have a Logitech Logi base charging stand, that charges through the smart connector?

How long does it take to charge? I've connected mine directly to a USB wall socket that supposedly puts out 3.1A, but seems to take ages.

The setup I have it in I didn't want an Apple wall 12W charger so replaced the wall socket that has USB ports in as well. This said 3.1A so I thought they'd be fine.

I know it takes longer through the smart connector but it seems to take as ages.

What is the charging specs for the smart connector, does anyone know? Or anyone else have details.

Thanks

I’m curious if the Logi Base (or the smart connector) can handle the 29 watt charger and give shorter times since those above mention the 12 watt charger...
or will I only get the 29 watt fast charging through the lightning port?

It doesn't matter. The smart connector, can't find the info just now, only produces a certain output anyway so no matter what input it's the same charge rate.

It does charge the 12.9 and 10.5 though. It's more of a desk stand to put conveniently on after using and you know it's getting charged.

I looked at this and for my 10.5 I went for an inexpensive adjustable stand and 30W charger. Easy choice - about $35 vs $85, much faster charge times, and more versatile.

Is the convenience factor more so than the speed of charging though. You can drop it on and it will charge, can be used as a stand as well. For fast charging as you say use the 30W.

I don't find plugging in the charger to be inconvenient at all as the cord is right there, same place where the stand would be. The price difference and excellent charging speed make the convenience factor trivial.

The reason I got the Logi Base was so that while working on video editing, I still have the lightning port free while the ipad is not losing power (or at least fast). I have a Leef iBridge, which I store a bunch of video clips on, or sometimes also use the lightning SD card reader to import video. Saves having to keep plugging in and unplugging the power cable.

Got it - I have a different Lightning uSD card reader that has simultaneous charging (pass through the reader) and that is really nice when watching a movie stored on the card.

I guess one other teeny reason is the fact that it’s same aluminum and the design kinda makes it look like a legitimate mini iMac LOL. I used to use a wooden stabs but this looks the part. When people see it they do a double take trying to figure out if it’s a small Mac desktop (mostly non Apple users).

It is nice looking - probably why I bookmarked it on Amazon :).
