I wouldn't mind some feedback on this. It's one idea for our team/consultancy identity for a client project at uni. Thanks.

I like logo 2. It is easier to align with text on a broad range of layouts. However, logo 1 seems to work better with the business card (1) and letterhead (1).

For the business card, though, I would make the logo smaller rather than full 3.5" width something like the letterhead -- logo on the right.

Getting a printer to crop it correctly -- especially from one print run to the next -- will be a challenge.

Good job!

for me personally I cant see 'papercut' from the way the logo is presented here except in the words.

Why? maybe its because I associate papercut with when you slice your finger on some paper rather than a cut in some paper and that always joins up at either end if you get what I mean.

Can't say I'd personally name a company after something that (I would expect) most people would associate with an annoying pain in the finger/thumb.

I agree, first thing I thought of was the annoying little cut as well...

This thread made me giggle. Why do some designers act like they're really asking for feedback when they want praise/exposure? Honesty is always best. I think it's fresh, young, clean, high-end, eye-catching. (If cringe-worthy.) Kudo--just one.

it just doesnt look right to me. I'm not a graphic designer though, but from a consumer perspective i just cant seem to like it. Maybe you should have one letter cut instead of the full word.

Not to hijack anything, nor steal your idea (well i guess i am kinda)
but i thought i would offer my take on your logo design

Im working with a design team on keeping ice from freesing on a slanted staircase on campus

It made me think of this thread

I agree with the earlier posters that Papercut gives a bad connotation. However, if you are stuck with that name then here are some suggestions:

1. The logo you have no breaks the text too much IMHO. The user has to think twice before understanding what the text says.

2. Consider slicing just one letter, or having a single slice through the center of the words at a ever so slight angle. It would look similar to many Sci-Fi fonts, think Blade Runner, only with a "paper" thin cut.

I like where you're going with the design - I do agree that too much of the letters are cut off.

Before you go with the idea of cutting just one letter, consider strongly that the big impression and distinction of the logo is that it bleeds across the top or the side. That's a strong reason to keep using it. Companies that lop a portion of a letter are a dime a dozen. I'd lop less but still have it bleed off the edge.

I like it. A bit of fine tuning and it'll be great.

How do you work that one out? What a ridiculous comment.

You asked for help, then proceeded to say you did something entirely different, without so much as any feedback from you in the thread.

Its perfectly reasonable to assume all you wanted was to show off.

not what I thought, but not ridiculous.
