Logo Suggestion

I am designing a logo for a company call Alycat Designs. This is a retail/wholesale company that selling embroiderable bags. There is the web URL http://www.alycatdesigns.com.

There is the logo.

I would like to have some suggestion about this logo. Thank you.

Interesting logo, I would make the whiskers NOT intersect the body and see what it looks like.

Only other thing I would say is that its difficult to print logos like that because there is so much white space above and below the words. Maybe make the cat smaller?


Oh also, make the bottom of the cat just curves, it looks like its sitting on something.. weirdly. Good work otherwise

I don't agree with the whisker adjustment, the alleycat is generally a messy animal...if you get rid of the wiry hairs inside the outline, it'll look too clean. Also the cat isn't sitting on anything, those are his paws.

In my opinion, you are finished with this logo.
...unless you wanted to curve the whiskers upward slightly.

I think it looks great on the website, and I like the idea.
I also agree with Peyton that maybe you don't need the whiskers inside the the body. I think that the colour of the cat should also fit in with the colour choices, maybe using the blue that is used throughout the website? How about trying it on a dark background, with the text in white, the body still white, and the outline of the cat the light blue as mentioned before?

Just giving ideas . . .

But the tail position could never be as what shown in the logo. It should curl out from the base.

I really don't think the emphasis here is on realism. I've never seen a cat with no eyes, nose or mouth, but whiskers, for example. The illustration serves well as it is.

That logo would be very hard to embroider. The Lines are SO thin. Mabe a light blue/grey solid fill color?

A little off topic, but I'd make the logo a .gif on the webpage - JPEG artifacts galore.

I'd play with some acronyms as well (ACD, AD) rather than the whole name. Also instead of a whole cat maybe simplifying it to just a face or paw could help.

I agree with Skeeball236 that the outlines are a bit much, try a silhouette.

I also agree that the whiskers should be the same colour as the cat and from the outline.

yep i think skeeball is right in terms of how to portray a alley cat.The torn ear would give that rugged look and would counteract the whiskers being moved.

If you did go with a torn ear, make it as noticable as you can. The lines are thin enough to distract the viewer from any small details you might make.
