After sales tax it is probably like $70. And I am sure to someone who wants an iPad right now and doesn't want to wait 2 weeks to get it...that will be worth $70 to them.

Yes but he stated that the apple stores in town have them in stock, so they would have them today. Otherwise I would agree, but that only works if the local stores are sold out.

Yea but when they do sell out that listing will still be there. That person will probably sell that iPad for the asking $600 with no problem. I've seen them successfully sold in my area over retail when best buy has them in stock.

Also with craigslist a lot of times you can get people to ship stuff. I live in Florida and posted an ad for some car speakers and some guy in NY contacted me and asked to buy them so he payed with paypal what I was asking plus shipping costs, I shipped them up to NY, and all was good.

BOTH?! I'm not from Raleigh but I got my iPad there at Crabtree Mall while on vacation in May. When I got in town I searched for Apple stores and Best Buy stores that sold Apple product in the area and there are about 5 or 6 Apple selling Best Buys and flat out Apple Stores (combined) lol.

Ud be silly to pay this price for that, especially if they are in stores. Tax won't be anymore than 40 bucks.

Depends on where you're talking about, really.

I paid $575 for my 16gig wifi on eBay, which came with the official Apple case and arrived 48 hours later. I felt like I got a good deal, more or less. Buying it at the local Apple store, assuming I managed to catch them with stock of that model, which I had no luck with doing, would have cost about $545.

This is the same as in Tucson. Right before I left I saw a couple ads for the 16GB WiFi only model, at $600. This was worse on launch week, when that same model sold for over $900.

As some point out, the waiting period might be the difference in price to some people. Also, I remember you had to pay with a credit card to get it right? I remember that story about a woman that saved for an iPad but was denied one because she wanted to pay in cash. (If you want to know what happened, her story was featured in some news site or news show and Apple gave her a free iPad and started taking cash for them at the Apple Store).

I just don't remember if that policy is still good.

I don't understand why we are debating this. Just because someone post it, it doesn't mean it will ever be sold at that price. Craiglist is free, I can post to sell an old pair of sneakers for $600 if I want.
