I emailed O2 Business Customer Services a few days ago asking whether (if there is) a new iPhone will be released at the same time on Business plans and released earlier on consumer plans.

I got a reply saying:

Good Morning ***************

Thanks for getting back to us.

Yes, *************** you're right. Apple has announced the launch of Apple iPhone
4G in the month of June. Once it'll be available on our network, we'll
then be able to comment whether the phone will be available for both
business section and consumer section or it'll be launched separately
for the business section.

I know this guy probably doesn't know what he's on about & he's probably talking about 4.0.

Anyway, does anyone know whether O2 released the 3G S on business and consumer plans at the same time? I switched to O2 Business because you can get a new phone every 12 months if you keep the existing 24 month plan rolling :)

O2 staff are clueless.

I overheard a sales assistant in a Glasgow store tell a customer that the iPhone was subsidised by them on Pay As You Go, when the truth is that the Pay As You Go price (like all the prices) are set by Apple.

Sure O2 subsidise on contracts, especially on newer models, but a Pay As You Go iPhone is the same price in the O2 store as it is in the Apple Store two minutes walk up the street.

When we launched the iPhone 3Gs it was available on both Business & Consumer plans from day 1.

Far too many people speak without thinking some times, but yes the chap who emailed you was more than likely on about 4.0 as Apple have not announced anything to us in regards to the iPhone.

About the Pay&Go iPhones being subsidised, obviously talking out her arse there :D as within two mouse clicks you can be on the Apple uk shop and see the exact same prices quoted there :)
