Received a 256 stick of pc133 today for my g3 pbook. Throw it in this thing and it still only detects 192 megs of RAM. Now this thing has some other problems such as:

1. Doesn't actually boot unless it shows the green light on before (Usually have to plug in power adapter)

Can someone tell me why this isn't detecting this 256 stick?

EDIT: Ok just incase this matters, the stick is a 256 x 8 stick.

I upgraded some Lombards that were laying around our office from system 8 or 9 to 10.3. In the process, a firmware updater was run that made them not recognize the add-on SODIMMs installed. Somewhere on the Web I found an old-OS utility for testing and registering SODIMMs, which made the Lombards see their full RAM complement again and made MacOS X work much better.

I wish I could remember what that utility was called and point you at it. I just vaguely recall downloading it from somewhere in Australia (ain't the Internet cool).

This sounds like what I need. ANYONE have ANY idea what this could be?

It's good to know a mac genius :)

Took it over his apartment (and he happened to purchase my Sawtooth as well) and we got the extra RAM to work, turns out the RAM chip was bad or something. Also doesn't seem to be doing the rebooting issue thing anymore either.
