It takes almost 2 minutes to boot for me... however I am running off a External USB Hard drive so that probably makes a difference. Interested to hear how long it takes for others booting off internal drive.

Boot time for Yosemite on my iMacs was way too long (primary drives)--> one of the many reasons I went back to Maverick.

Hopefully Apple can address this in the final release.

I get a progress bar on each boot (using a SanDisk Extreme 64gb Thumb drive which is very fast and works great) and it takes about 20 to 30 seconds for the bar to complete ...is that normal?

Takes me about 10 seconds. I have it as my main OS on my macbook pro and not on an external hard drive though.

I get the same progress bar and takes 30 sec to 1 min to boot on my internal 2tb drive.

I'm pretty sure boot time increases with the more external devices (USB/Thunderbolt) you have...

I currently have 7 thunderbolt devices attached and 1 USB3.

My boot time is about 20 seconds, that's with an internal SSD (SATA3).

By about 10 they probably mean more like 15 - 20 seconds. Unless they're just talking about load time after POST but I would consider all time after clicking the button and before having a useable OS as boot time.

What was the last version of OS X you clean installed onto your Mac?

My iMac came with Mountain Lion pre-installed, and I've installed Mavericks, then YPB1, then YDP5 over the top...

Do you use VMWare? I know that Yosemite introduced some kext signing feature that might impact on some software that installs kexts of their own, like Trim Enabler and VMWare..

It should be fast... I'm using a late-2012 iMac I bought over a year ago, and back then the only large SSD option was 768GB.. boy it was expensive.. so your machine should boot Yosemite faster since it has a PCIe SSD in it..

Is there some way that you can tell us what you mean by "slow"?
There's a big difference between " almost 20 seconds" and "more than 2 minutes". I have one of each… :D
If "everything else" is fast, why do you care about slow boot times?
How often do you really need to reboot? I rarely shut my Mac off, and generally go about a month or more between shutdowns, sometimes longer, and almost always leave my Mac sleeping.
How is yours waking from sleep?
