Anyone else having this issue? I have a 2014 rMBP 15" that used to boot up in just 4-5 sec, now it needs 30-40 secs. I have to wait 20 secs after the bootup sound until I see an Apple logo.
Same with me, and I'm on a 2012 15" rMBP. I also starting getting a light boot up screen at the same time.![]()

I would boot with CMD-V (verbose mode) and see what its doing.
Man, you guys are lucky! I'm running 10.10 on a late 2008 MBP. Boot time is about 2 1/2 MINUTES. Sometimes 3!
I'm running a new iMac (bought 3 months ago) and it still takes 2.5 to 3 minutes to boot.
Must be the difference between SSD and "old" hard drives, 'eh?
This is likely because your Macintosh HD is NOT selected as boot disk.I have to wait 20 secs after the bootup sound until I see an Apple logo.

Go to System Preferences / Startup Disk, select Macintosh HD as startup disk.
Reboot.
