Long delivery times

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

-A new SR MBP 2.4 (CTO glossy screen) ordered on June 5th.

-Apple's Order Status page showing a Shipping By date that is quite a ways away. (In this case June 26th)

-The Shipping By date has come and gone but the unit still hasn't shipped nor has the Shipping By date changed.

By the way, I'm not at all upset (patience keeps the blood pressure down) but I am curious to find out if anybody else has seen behavior like this on the Order Status page, or for that matter, experienced or is experiencing a long wait for delivery.

Yep, stock 160 HDD so that shouldn't be the cause. Is it possible that the glossy screen is causing the delay?

Hey, good news, the Order Status page just updated my out of date 'Shipping By' quote of June 26th to..........July 5 - July 9......:(

This is getting a little old......I really hope there is a good reason for this delay

Hi, there!
I know exactly how you feel. I ordered mine (17" hi-res matte, rest: standard specs) on June, 6th (one day after they came out) and I haven't even been given a shipment date yet :mad: :mad: :mad: !
Might be because of the fact that I live in Austria! And because of the 17-inch-scree hi-res matte which makes my order a BTO which normally take a little longer, as they told me at the Austrian Apple store.
I just really hope that I will get my mbp BEFORE Leopard comes out in October!!!
I can put up with maybe 3 to 4 weeks of waiting, but I really want this "screamer" asap to hold in my hands.
So Steve if you or anyone else from :apple: are reading this please send me my mbp as fast as possible!!

I also know what you mean! I ordered a 2.2 MBP standard in everyway other than glossy. I ordered it on the 19th from our campus store and it's still not here. By the looks of it i'll still have to wait another week but worst off all since i ordered it via the campus store i didn't get a tracking number! So i don't know wether it's still in China or 30mins away in the UPS depot.
 
Same problem in Australia with glossy mbp

I have had a 2.4 15" glossy mbp on order since the day they were released. I have been told that the matte screens have been delivered to customers, but Apple have said that there is a problem in delivering the glossy versions. They would not give a reason.

This is annoying because I actually had a 2.33 MBP on order since early May, and cancelled this when the new release was announced!
 
I spoke with the Apple service department today about the delays (apparent) in delivery times. The individual that I talked to (Colin?) was very polite to deal with. Colin told me that part of the delay was due to the very high demands that the free ipod offer was putting on the delivery system as well that the CTO of a glossy screen was contributing to some of the delay.

I asked him if there was a chance that the delivery time would slip yet again and he basically assured me that it wouldn't. (crosses fingers)

So it is now looking like another two weeks wait before it shows up in my house. (hmmmm, delayed gratification?)

I ordered a 2.2 glossy mbp on June 21st and it shipped on the 27th. I did pay the extra $15 for shipping since I wanted it asap.
 
I live in Belgium and I've been waiting for my white macbook from tuesday june 12! It's now the bloody 28th! And it still hasn't even shipped. So that's 16 days and counting.
And I bought it at a PREMIUM reseller, haha. What's in a word huh!

They told me it would take 7-10 days as it was a build to order (160hd), but this is becoming a bit ridiculous. The guy on the phone told me something was up at the factory in Ireland, and that all their orders received a 2-3 week delay. He was guessing it had something to do with the superdrive shipments..

This is going to be my first apple and I've waited forever to finally get one, so I'm pretty dissapointed right now.

Anyone else in Belgium or Europe with a build to order having problems like this?

I know the feeling. Tell me something, did you experience a change in order status from one shipping date to another?

Nope, the problem is I can't see anything online, because I ordered it at the apple store. I would have to have their login to see what my order status is.. They keep telling me they'll ring me up first thing when they see a change, but I keep calling them every couple of days myself :)

They say the status only says: "processing", so that means they don't even have a shipping date yet.
In the meantime I"ll just keep buying new audio equipment in preparation of the mac... All this for a 40 gig hd upgrade :/

Ahhh, I placed my order with a reseller here in my city, I merely asked the sales clerk for the Web Order number which he provided me without pause.

The only other item you will need is the equivalent of a zip code or postal code for the store, and that is probably on your bill of sale.

Wow, seriously? Cool! They mailed me a screenshot of order which has that number. I'm going to try it immediately! Thanks a bunch man! Now I can check the status every hour! :p

EDIT: Yes!!! It says it was shipped today!!!!! Oh man!!!! But oh bummer, it says estimated delivery date july 4th... :( So yet another week to wait...

sadly enough i use update scanner a firefox add on, this monitors the status page every 15 minutes for any changes, i get a popup window if anything on the page changes.
very sad i know, i got excited this morning to find it had changed to ready for shipment, i guess another week or so to wait now.
 
UPDATE!! IT's COMING

YEAH.....

I just checked the order status and it is now showing shipped on June 28th via Fed Ex.

Oh goody:D goody:D goody:D......(jumps up and down)

What company handles deliveries in the UK? I know over here in Canada that Fed Ex can be very fast once they get the item in their hands. One example I recently had was I NEEDED to get a new mixer for a recording session. Fed Ex had the item shipped all the way from the eastern states up to Alberta Canada inside of two days..... absolutely amazed me!

Nope, absolutely no idea.
Mine's being shipped with TNT. Never heard of them actually. I hope they deliver as fast as Sopranino says FedEx does! My macbook's currently in Shanghai. Has to get all the way to Belgium though... And it was 20.50 pm local time when they registered the tracking point, so I doubt it'll ship from there until tomorrow. Since I've never heard of TNT, I don't know if they have 24/24 flights and ground travel...

EDIT: On the plus side, they just slashed my estimated delivery time by 2 days, clocking in at july 2nd instead of 4th!

Sounds like TNT is moving things along fairly rapidly. Good luck nicolasmasset, enjoy the experience!

I've taken a look at the FEDEX tracker page and it hasn't updated yet from the 3:45 pm (Shanghai time) posted on the 28th. I am assuming that it will probably update sometime around the same time as it did yesterday.

I'm kinda hoping it'll arrive today!
I calculated the time difference from when it shipped and the time here, and they should've had sufficient time to airmail over to belgium by now! :rolleyes:
Oh well, that would be the day... :)
 
I'm hoping mine comes today aswell but i doubt it.

I haven't received a tnt tracking number yet and its got to get over the channel and then up north :/

I think it going to be stuck in a depot all weekend a few miles away
