My first generation Air is very long in the tooth with the OS stuck at 12.5.2. Various websites are buggy and load slowly.

I am comfortable with the smaller screen on the 8th, in fact I may even prefer it.

I am just a person that doesn’t upgrade often- I like things to last.

Will the 8th be pretty viable for a while?

Thanks.

8th generation will last for years and is one of the best values in Apple’s lineup. The upgrade in the chip to the A12 Bionic added years to the life

It’ll be fine. It’s an iPad! The fact that you’ve carried on this long with the first gen air is a testament to their longevity.
