Longer Ship Times...

Just lookin through the Apple Online store, and this is what I saw...

MacBook = 5-7 shipping days
iMac = 1-2 shipping days

Everything else including iPods are shipping within 24 hours. Could this mean anything, or just a large demand for those items?

To be honest, probably just pent up demand - I can't see Apple transitioning their Macbook to new processors while demand is so damn high...forcing its customers to wait even longer to get a new computer.

The iMac, on the other hand, could be a different story, as those weren't selling very well last quarter...

The MacBook is just high back to school demand. I know my order placed on the 21st of August has still not shipped. There is a thread on the boards here (search for it) about MacBook shipping times being delayed.

Btw, I heard that Dell is shipping Merom notebooks around Sept. 19. If that's true, Merom around Paris Expo seems likely.
