Ever since updating to iOS 5 when I go to Visual Voicemail and try deleting them, it takes quite a few seconds for me to be able to actually delete them. It appears that the delete button is greyed out for quite a few seconds before it is available to select.

Has other people noticed this?

I have had all of the iPhones since the day they've all came out and this is the first time I've ever had any delay/lag when trying to delete the voicemails.

Just checked mine (3GS on iOS 5) and it doesn't have any lag with regards to deleting voicemail.

Did you check once you delete it and then go into the DELETED VOICEMAILS to permanently delete them, to see? It's not when I delete them it's when I permanently delete them.

Oh, I see. No, didn't check there. I'll check now...

EDIT: just deleted several voicemails from the "Deleted" folder without any lag. Not sure why you're experiencing lag.

Mine seemed ok this time I went to delete them but most of the time there is considerable lag when permanently deleting them. So it appears it may be network related, possibly?

That could be the case. I didn't try the "permanent delete" thing when you were having lag so it may have cleared up in between. For my sake and the sake of others viewing this thread and possibly testing, which carrier are you with?

Okay, thanks, me too. As you mentioned, possibly network-related then.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I can verify that this has happened to me for a while too, not just on iOS5. I'm also on ATT and have had the problem through multiple iPhones, multiple OSes and even after a clean setup recently. Weird.

Do you think it might be connected to deleting multiple voicemails, especially if they are lengthy? Just a thought.

I haven't had any problems with lag on Vz, but I permanently delete them as soon as I've listened to them.

I don't think it's network related because I use to be able to delete many visual voicemails almost instantly with some of them being very lengthy.

It was something they did with one of the updates that made it slower.
