I play my games and watch my sky football through my USB card plugged in to my MBP. It works well.

Some of the EyeTVs have coax inputs, so it not gonna look great, but it'll work

EDIT: This one has an S-Video input, which can be converted into a composite input. I think this would be your best solution.

Also, there's a lag. I believe that in EyeTV2, with certain Elgato hardware, you can select 'game mode' that minimizes the lag. When not in game mode the lag is so bad (on the order of a second or more) as to make any action games unplayable. Not sure how much 'game mode' improves it.
