I'm looking to get a 2.0ghz MBP, but I was wondering what harddrive to go with, the 100gb 7,200 rpm hard drive, or the 120gb hard drive? I wanna upgrade to either one, just not sure which one. Would a faster hard drive be better than one with more space, I want the one that will give be the best overall performance (battery life, speed, etc).

I think this depends upon your needs. Do you need the extra 20GB of space? Will you be doing stuff that hogs your ram?
If you are always using programs that hog RAM then get the faster, slightly smaller hard disk. If your RAM is OK, then get the bigger one. You can never have enough storage space.
I believe there is a noticable difference between 7200rpm and 5400rpm. I've used the 7200rpm drives in my laptops for years and ordered that for my MBP. The space did not really matter for me.
For all out performance, I would get the 7200 seeing how my 60GB 4200RPM HD in my iBook has about 25GBs free. My next purchase will definitely be the 15" MacBook Pro with a 7200RPM HD. I played with it at the Apple store and it is quite possibly the most amazing computer I have seen. It is just so speedy.
I'm going to take a different approach when I order mine...
I'm going to stay with the stock 100GB 5400RPM drive so that they machine is not BTO...that way, if there happens to be issues, I'll have a better chance of Apple replacing it rather than sending it away for repairs (for issues right from the beginning).

Get the 7200 RPM. The speed will be noticeable. And if you need the extra 20GBs, well then get an external because Im sure you would actually need more than just an extra 20GBS. Why even get a 2GHz if you are going to bottleneck it at the HDD?
get the 7200rpm it is very impressive it is worth the money. Its very snappy. I work with a lot of video and graphical stuff and I notice the performance differences like opening files and finding stuff.I think that harddrive is quicker then the one on my pc, probaly because windows sucks

And to everyone's reply about whether I need more hd space, I have an external firewire hd, so I hope that will suffice, and I really want the better performance, but was worried about power consumption (not anymore).
