Found a company that will sell me a new mac mini with

16 RAM upgrade: Corsair speed 1333MHZ

480GB SSD (SATA III) is by OCZ - Agility 3

Graphics card AMD Radeon

Second internal HDD 1 TB

Asking price is $1400.

Sound like a fair deal?

I am not looking to crack the box and do the upgrades myself so...

Thanks

I don't know what sad sells for. But the middle model with amd card is 799 +100 for 16gb of ram which is about fair. So 1400 -900 is 500. And if the ssd's are worth 500 then it6s a good deal. Plus labor I guess its fair if you really need all. So go for it.

Let's break this in parts ...

Mac Mini: 750
480 GB Agility 3: 350
1 TB 2,5" drive: 70
16 GB RAM: 80
Dual-HDD-Kit: 20 (?)
-------------------
Sum: 1.270

So yes, assuming I calculated the US prices right from the EU street prices I looked up, I think this offer is at least okay. But consider the Mini and SSD price to fall a bit in the coming weeks, so with a bit of work you could easily save 200. Or just pay the price and get a great out of box experience. And if there's warranty on this offer, it's even better.

why an iMac

I would get iMac for that price. Probably wait for a new model.

I should have added I currently run two 32 inch monitors so I don't need the iMac monitor plus can I get the 480 SSD and an internal 1 TB drive in the iMac?

Yes you can.

Follow up. What resolution are you running those 32" monitors at?

1080i

and

1280x760 60hz

also running my iPad as a third monitor using airdisplay.

----------

My current Mini is filled with data from a migrate from a MacBook.

Any one have experience with SSD's.

Is better to do a fresh install, or a manged migration versus a migration with Migration Assistant or Time Machine.

Should I move folders off the SSD to the 1 TB HDD to avoid stress on the SSD?
