Hi all

I have been looking at buying a new Vid card to replace
both of my 1Gig Radeon HD5870's,

Mac Pro 3,1 (early 08)
Dual 3.0Ghz Quad Core Xeons
32 gig DDR800 FB Mem

Thinking of going Back to Nvidia because they actually support OS X with drivers,
Not to mention that the graphics look a lot sharper.

Have been reading a lot about flashing PC cards for Mac Pro's,
thing is nobody has posted a link to where you download the vid cards rom,
Lots of talk about how to do it and which card are best, just no links to Roms for the cards,
Have been all over google like a rash looking but no joy.

can some one please post some links for card roms
Nvidia and ATI Please
[doublepost=1474881429][/doublepost]As an after thought I am also running bootcamp win7 ultimate 64bit,
Anybody know of a boot loader that saves us having to hold down the option key on boot?

E.G I push the power button and wait till an OS choice screen pops up,
Like what you get when you have Window And Linux on a PC.

No entirely true, there is a power management bug to run 7950 in 3,1. It has work around, but make the 7950 not a good OOTB solution for 3,1.

Oops sorry brain freeze I remember reading that somewhere I'm to old for this s**t hehe

I've been using a mac edition 680 for awhile now and I've had lots of success with it. I need an upgrade badly though since everything is moving to 4K video delivery.

GTX 680 does 4k just fine here is a demo I made its not 4k but the video on the TV is

The only reasonable DIY upgrade for your MP3,1 would be a GTX 680. ROMs have been posted to this forum and at netkas.org, should be easy to find.

No, they don't.

thanks for the link to the roms and the heads up on rEFIt, i'll look at those later,
after spending 4 hours online looking I was not up to reading hours of forum posts lol,
So when I got here I just skimmed over the post thread titles,
I didn't actually fully read the posts, just skimmed over them.

As to the NVidia graphics looking sharper than ATI,
the last NVidia card I used was an EVGA 1.8 Gig Quadro FX 4500
I bought for doing rendering in AutoDesk so that may be why I thought
the NVidia cards looked sharper than the ATI cards, I was running a Graphics Rendering card,
To be honest I didn't even take that into consideration when I made that comment,
My poor old eyes and brain were getting quite tired after 4 hours of trolling the web lol.

I did find this site while looking, they do have some Mac roms but you have to do a site search for them.
