Hey guys,
I'm kind of a perpetual lurker around these forums, and i've browsed some recent threads regarding this kind of thing, just looking for some personalized help.

So my current computer is the first generation Macbook, Core Duo 2.0 GHz, with the ram maxed at 2 gig (sad). I'm having serious issues with it slowing down all the time under the load of programs i usually have open (safari, mail, ical, word, powerpoint, itunes, iphoto etc.) Its pretty much driving me bananas.

So I want to pick up an iMac to use while I'm at home, and hang onto the 'Book for typing at school etc using the Back to my Mac thinger. I should also mention that I'm into photography (recently got a Sony a200 DSLR), and DJ mixing (via the recently released Mixmeister mac version).

SO, with the background out of the way, is the 24" screen REALLY that much better than the 20? The 24 would be a bit of a squeeze on my desk (yay for having to move my shelf), but i'm more than willing to pony up for that extra screen real estate.

Thinking of going refurb since there isn't much speed difference compared to the brand spanking new ones... thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

20" iMac's TH panel makes it hard to do serious photographic work. Colors change with the view angle and it's hard to clearly find out what tones are correct and what are not.

Gor for 24" and max the RAM to 4G.
