I got my parents a 2015 iMac, and gifted there old 2012 Mini to my sisters kids.

Before doing that, I needed to redeem my previously botched SSD surgery (killed the IRDA connector) on my old mini, by trying it one more time. I installed a 500gb SSD and a 1TB to act as a TM backup.

The surgery was successful, but I found one of the screws that clip the round cover in place missing, and also found that there was no rubber cover over the mini's wifi antenna connection. I guess this had been opened before when they bought it from Best Buy all those years ago.

This mini always had horrible wifi, does that rubber shielding do anything that effects wifi?

My sister will be using ethernet, but I'd like to shield it if i can if its needed before I give it to her.

Also does anyone have a source for those three little hex screws that you put on to hold the cover?

One of those was also missing, want it to be all set when I give it away. It was so much easier doing it this time, Im going to miss these little guys.

The 2012 was a great little machine.
