Hello,

Apple standard calender app on an iPhone can only find events less than 1 year old or 1 year in the future (even if you sync all events, search is limited). I am using an external calendar system like Google, Exchange, AOL etc.

I am looking for a calendar app for my iPhone which can find older events, because my calender goes back many many years (back to the 1980s) and sometimes I am looking for informations like "New York" to find when I have been there in recent years. If you know the exact date you can find it within the standard Apple calendar app just going to this date.

Calengoo can make +- 10 years in the settings.

Any other suggestions for all events ?

Thanks and kind regards,
Alexander

Not using it for my everyday calendar app but the "Calendar Op.2" app can do it. What it actually does is search a two-year range but changing the range back a year only takes a touch.

I assume that most calendar apps just access the iOS search database and that's why they only go back a year.

I’ve been using Fantastical (free version) for many years, and I’ve just successfully searched back to an entry in 2012!

As an aside here, I’ve just tried to go back using the native iOS Calendar on my iPhone, and as you say it will only go back a year or so, however I’m able to go back to my entries in 2012 on both my iPad Pro and on my MacBook in the native Calendar app just as I did in Fantastical.

I wonder why Apple decided to restrict the native Calendar on the iPhone and not on other Apple devices?

So, I need to search some appts from over the last 2 or 3 years, so I downloaded Fantastical. However, I don't see a way to import my current calendar. Do you know how to do that or is Fantastical only going to work for dates that are originally input there?

Did you find an app that worked for you? I downloaded Fantastical, but I don't see a way to connect it to my current calendar to search over the past 2 or 3 years..

When you installed Fantastical, it asked you for permission to access your Calendar. I have done that, and am able to review appointments going back 10 years.

Got it! Thanks. I was just being impatient. It took a few minutes to populate, but I have it all now.

Is this here any apparent limit on how far back it can go?

I can go back to the beginning of March 2012 in Fantastical, as that’s when I started using the native iOS Calendar, but I think you can probably go back much further than that.

Hello,

on my iPhone XR with 16.1 I am now able to search ALL events ! :)

Going back to 1972 is no problem at all, finding everything with the native app ! Have not read about it anywhere just found it by chance when trying to add a new appointment and the calender suggested one from 1999...

Farewall,
Alexander
