Hi
Hope all of you are doing great and maintaining social distance and wearing mask all the time when outside
This is my first post on The MR forum.

I have just switched to an ipad from an android tablet for my writing needs.
Purchased the 32gb 8th gen ipad recently along with the first gen apple pencil. Now i am Looking for an apple pencil friendly writing app. Can you folks help...

My needs are

I should be able to upload a specific jpeg file {scanned copy of my office pad) over which I can write.

The app should have the ability to make multiple copies of the same jpeg or document that I ll upload so that I can use the same format over and over again to write with the apple pencil, and then send via email or WhatsApp to the front desk.

The app should be able to export the document in proper A4 size so that it can be printed properly and comes nicely on a a4 size sheet.

All in all as soon as i import the jpeg I should be able to format and resize it to a full A4 size paper in the ipad and once the document is written I should be able to send it via email or WhatsApp as a jpeg or pdf as a proper A4 sized full page document.

On Android I used to use Squid and on ios currently using metamoji note
As i am on ipad now hence need an app that can do all, and the app should be getting regular updates (metamoji note has not been updated in last 2 yrs, though it still works alright and doing all that i need pretty well TBH)

Already tried one note and notepad plus etc.
Don't wish to opt for unnecessarily bloated and may be complicated apps like notability or good notes as my usage is pretty limited and simple.

I would rather prefer a free app but can buy as well if it has all the features that i want.

Squid was awesome but unfortunately they don't have an ios variant of their app at all.

Thanks in advance
LD

Evernote is my personal recommendation.

You could look at Concepts. It is more of a sketching tool, but I use it often for note taking. You could upload a jpg to the photos album then you can copy that to Concepts as often as you like. Concepts supports layers so you could put the jpg at the bottom and lock it. I usually use a freeform canvas but I believe you set a fixed size such as A4. They are pretty good to answer questions about how to use the app if you hit a stumbling block.

So, is this Jpeg image like a logo, for example, which has a fixed position on the page? If yes, why don’t you import it into Word, position it the way you like it. The repeatedly save what you can call a mater copy (in fact you could save it as a PDF) and then use that to write on? It may be easier to just design this on Word on a laptop and then just import the PDF into your iPad which you could use locally or retrieve on call from the cloud.

Thanks for the suggestion
And No that's not a logo.
I am a Dr and that a jpeg of my prescription,
We had a system crash just before the Pandemic so apart from printed pads we don't have any soft copies of them neither the developer.
Hence we are doing away with a jpeg that i took myself, cleaned it, edited it and using that as prescription.

Ok. But the same principle applies. You could create a “master template” in PDF format and either store it locally or invoke it from your cloud.

Notability is what I use too, and it works very well.
Indeed.
Just one issue, and I have contacted them regarding that as well.
When you wish to send a page via email from among a bunch of them there is no straight forward option like
Export current page
Or
Export so and so numbered page .

I have to deselect all and then scroll through the stack and select one particular page to export.

Off late noticing that while writing with the pencil many a times it takes may be more than two seconds forbth written text to actually become visible ....
