a while back when i was using windows i had an app that ran in the background giving me a diff ip address so i can watch videos from other countries. i cant remember what its called and im looking for the same thing for a mac now.

what im looking for in that app:
it would search and give me options what proxy to connect to by country
app that will run in the background and not have to go through a web page
it would show trip time, so the connection speed for videos will not suffer.

thank you in advance

i cant figure out how to see what country ip im getting.
still cant watch the videos fromother countries =(

ty for the suggestions, but im looking for a free app.
i will only use it maybe once a week to watch couple of shows.

Remote or localhost proxy?

so that website is thinking that my computer is actually somwhere else (geographically)

in reality, im physically in Tampa FL, but i want for the site to see/think that im in London UK

There is a proxy server extension in the Safari Extensions Gallery that I believe will do what you want. Also, you can also find many remote proxy servers on the web.

If you are just going to use it for web browsing then Tor, as suggested above, is a good option. Tor is more than just a proxy. It both anonymizes your location and the data that is transmitted as well. There are some caveats related to the use of Tor from what I understand. I do not use it myself so I do not know that much about it other then the basics from its website.

I tried Tor before. It hides the IP. Which is not what im looking for. Im looking for something that will not hide ip, but change it to a different IP from a different country.

Thank you for the suggestion tho =)

This is not entirely correct. I suggest you read Tor's Manuals and other documentation, starting with the "About Tor" page.

We're not going to help you any more than you're willing to help yourself. If you want a free proxy service, Tor is as good as you're going to get.
