I'm looking for a good golf GPS app for the Apple Watch that displays yardage to hazards in addition to front, middle, and back pin placements. I tried using the GolfNow app and others but they were very slow to refresh or just didn't work. I also don't want to pay for a subscription. Suggestions please?

Have you tried this app out in the wild? If so, is it any good?

Yes, I've used the iPhone version for years. The watch version still uses the GPS on the phone so I've actually switched to FunGolf, but you asked for FREE, and FunGolf isn't free.

Yes I read the original post - he said "no subscription" not "free".
Hence my reply about Fungolf, you can buy "lifetime" which kills "subscription"
If someone wants free get Hole 19 http://www.hole19golf.com

Thanks all. I've tried several. Unfortunately they don't utilize the gps in the watch yet - some are working on it. I have to sync on the watch or use the phone which defeats the purpose of the watch. Happy New Year!

Not correct, Fungolf uses the watch GPS:

"You own an Apple Watch Series 2 ? FunGolf knows how to use its internal GPS. The distance we show is measured against yourself, not the iPhone you left in the golf cart."

I was looking for the lifetime subscription for this but only saw monthly or yearly options. Where did you find it?
[doublepost=1483641211][/doublepost]I didn't see a "lifetime" subscription but paid the $19.99 for a year. I'll hit FunGolf's customer service team though. Maybe they have one that's undocumented.

It appears they have revamped their charges/subs again. Originally there was no way to trial at all, it seems now there is a cheap option to trial & then only an annual sub. Glad I jumped in with the lifetime when I did!
