My wife has had an iPhone for a couple years, and plan on upgrading sometime this June. I do not currently own one, but may purchase one also in June.

For her reminders/todo's she's been placing an item into Calendar (synced to iCal via mobileme) or iCal directly.. Her phone is "Binging" all the time with various things she wants to be reminded of etc...

Now when I get my iPhone, I do not want all of those "Bing's, Dings, Dongs" but I do want the ability to see her calendar (the family's..).

I'm thinking a program like "Todo" or "Things" may work for her, without disrupting my calendar when I get an iPhone too.

Curious if anyone out there has run this route and could share their experience, or tell me I'm spot on.

Thanks!

I like 2do. Nice interface, but most importantly, it syncs with the native iCal... which, in turn, syncs with MobileMe should you have it. It ain't free... but you get what you pay for.

I use Pocket Informant for both events and tasks, it'll have direct access to the iPhone's iCal in the OS 4.0, so events entered in Pocket Informant will also show in the iPhone's iCal, and that'll sync to either your desktop iCal or Outlook, whichever you use.

2Do Out ToDo In

I ditched 2Do, even though I liked it, because they don't have an iPad version nor will they give an estimated date for an iPad release. I ended up with ToDo (both versions are currently on sale) for iPad and iPhone. And it syncs with iCal :)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll do some more research on those you recommended. Mobileme syncing was more important the more I think about it.. With the new API's in 4.0 we'll have some interesting developments on that front. I'll check those out in the meanwhile!

Thinking about it overnight, I just tried to see if I can "deselect" my wife's particular calendar, and keep mine and the kids. It appears on 3.0 it's "all or one" of the calendars syncing with mobileme. So with a few clicks (not ideal!) I could navigate each calendar individually if I wanted to keep her alarms from going off..

Thanks again

Hey check our Reqall.
I don't care what anyone says, it is brilliant and amazing.

It's voice to text, which is what I wanted.
So as i walk to the station and think, Oh I have to send that report to my boss by 3pm, I open it, click + and say just that.

It sends it to reqall as text and even emails me a reminder before 3pm!
Amazing.
