I am about to service a few MacBook air's wipe and reload and update, but I am looking for software or a method to verify hardware components? I want to verify that key's, hinges, webcam, touch pad, sound, screen, and any other part are working or to be able to document any problems

Macs have built-in diagnostics. You can find out how to invoke diagnostics for different models here.
