  • TP-Link TL-WN823N v4.0 - USB WiFi Adapter
I have a situation where the WiFi available where I live is quite weak. It is powerful enough for my iPhone, iPad and Linux laptop to connect and use, but it the signal is not being detected by my Mac Mini M1. I figured that a cheap way to try to solve this problem would be to obtain a USB WiFi Dongle and see if that can pick up the signal.

To this end, I've just taken delivery of a `TP-Link TL-WN823N` USB WiFi Dongle, but after trying and failing to get it to install, I learn from contacting TP-Link's support that the drivers are not suitable for any macOS version > 10.15 😮

So, does anyone know of a brand of USB WiFi Dongle that is completely compatible with macOS 15.3.2?

I should add that I am running an Apple Mac Mini (Silicon).

This is the error I got when the installation process "finished"...

As far as I know, there is not an officially supported USB WiFi adapter product that works with Sequoia. There are Realtek USB WiFi adapters which can work with macOS, however, you will have to disable some security features and install an unsupported driver. You can read about it here -

Update: I just realized you have an Apple Silicon Mac. The Realtek driver "hack" is for macOS Intel only. Sorry.
