Hi there. I would be happy to assist with any info that I have. I've been teaching television production for the last 5 years - and also have worked in pretty much every aspect of TV production - Including running my own shop.
Graphics play a pretty big role in TV production, and I would be happy to pass along my experiences in news, promotion, production and working with advertising agencies.

Hi. I've 15 years experience producing graphics for the fashion industry, primarily board sports, as well as freelancing in all areas of graphic design.
I'm assuming you're based in the US so I might not be able to give completely applicable advice as I'm in the UK but I'm more than happy to help where I can.

It's kind of crazy that you went to design school and they didn't teach you business fundamentals. In my senior year they had a specific class dedicated to creating a business plan, finding your market, creating your identity, and polishing your portfolio. We even had to schedule interviews with our instructor for a fake position at a design company. I think you got kinda ripped off on your education if you have to rely on the kindness of strangers to help you with your business.
You might want to look at taking some specific marketing and business classes at a GOOD community college. It doesn't have to be about design... You might also look at your local SBA for a mentorship program, and look at joining any associations in your area. With due respect to what people on this forum can offer, nothing is better than in person mentoring/advising.
