Hello all. Losing the net at home.

Looking for suggestions for Off-line games with great replay value.

I have SC2 and will be attempting to use in guest mode.

I am thinking Warcraft 3 would also be a awesome choice.

Would love to hear your suggestions. Running a 2010 imac on Snow Leopard.

Thanks in advance.

I think warcraft 3 would look good but am I right in assuming that Diablo 2 would not look real good on a 21.5" imac?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone :)

Civ V GOTY is 33% off on Steam. There's a chance the price may go down even more during a daily deal before the steam sale is over. If you want replay value, it can't be beat.

Diablo II should look OK, but 3 will be out next year, and the CE will include a copy of it...

I play Rome Total War. Feral Interactive also ported it so it runs native and you can buy it in the App Store for I believe $30. I know some of the mods also work. I would suggest Europa Barbarorum and Rome Total Realism

Civ V is promising, but the performance in Macs is pathetic. After 50-70 turns the sluggishness is too much for me to enjoy the game.

I have a brand new MBP 15" (512mb video memory), I would have hoped for at least being able to play in medium settings without problems, but no, I can't even play in low settings.

Just so you know, you can play your account offline in Starcraft 2. When you try to login it says it cannot connect, and asks if you want to go into offline mode. But you cannot get achievements offline.

And yes, you can play Minecraft offline.

Can you play Dragon Age or Dragon Age 2 if you're not on the internet? I think they require some activation for certain content, but you can spend many hours on Dragon Age: Origins... just make sure you download every conceivable mod you desire from Dragon Age Nexus before you are taken offline. There are lots of great mods, and countless hours of gameplay on Dragon Age: Origins.

Just a slight FYI any digital title sold by Feral Interactive supports offline mode. In fact we never shipped any game that needs an internet connection to play. The internet is only needed once on first run to register your Mac from then on you can play offline without ever reconnecting if that is your desire.

For the real road warrior with no internet DVD versions of our games allow you to play using the DVD so you never need to register online (you do need to use the DVD each time you play if you don't register).

RE:Looking for a Off the Grid game with great replay value.

Torchlight is a personal favorite. It's on Steam for a pretty good price. It has a very similar play style to the Diablo series. It's a great time killer. It's one of those games that you keep playing and you don't know why on earth you're still playing it.

Can't think of a better offline time sink than Civ IV. Seriously, you can play that for years.
