Hiya
I am looking for a program which will enable me to organise/store photos in date order but allow me to rename, categorise by orientation, attach key words, allocate star grading etc etc. Then to top it off be able to do specific searches, eg. B&W, portrait, asia, 5 star rating. Is there a program out there that will enable me to do this??
Would appreciate any help you can give me :)

There is a program in your Applications folder called iPhoto, which should be able to do most of what you're trying to do.

If you want more control over image adjustments, metadata, and organization, check out Aperture or Lightroom. Both of them have 30 day trials so you can tinker with either before you spend money.

aperture and lightroom (preferred) are other two good ones which will do all that you mentioned.
