I bough an Imac in january, and gave away my xp laptop. I really miss the portablility, and was wondering if anyone could come up with a way for me to exchange my imac for one of the new penryn macbooks

thanks

look into getting an eeePC, if you don't need a high specced machine on the go they look pretty cool, could wait for the new model appearing in august however

ive seen the eee, i hate the standard os, xandros or whatever, and im not going to install xp

the bottom line is i want a mac, and i also want a computer with a useable keyboard. good idea though

Sell the iMac, shouldnt be hard. Take the cash you get, add a bit more, and buy a macbook. Dont think there are any 'loopholes' to allow a return 2 months after your purchase.

Or maybe find someone that would trade an older macbook.

im considering selling the imac and then getting a refurb macbook for 849, any thoughts on this, good idea or bad idea

thanks for the tip "voodoodaddy"

There is no loophole, especially considering that your iMac is now more than 2 months old.

Your best bet is to sell it via ebay or Craigslist and put the cash towards a macbook (refurbed would really save some money, as you already surmised).

Otherwise, let it be a lesson to you: the portability of a notebook is priceless (or in this case, perhaps not).

Seems like a pretty good idea really. You should be able to get almost all of that $849 from selling to cover the macbook.
