I recently made the mistake of updating my 2G iPhone with the latest 3.0 software.

While all went well, I realized that it would no longer work since I was not using an official sim (since the iphone wasnt available locally when I purchased it)

Does anyone know if it is possible to downgrade it again?

If so where do I fond the right software as I have traulled through a fair bit of stuff but cant seem to restore it.

Cheers

Did you click Restore in iTunes? Should get you back to 2.2.1. If not, download 2.2.1:

Then click Command key while clicking Restore to select your downloaded firmware file.

I D/L that file also and tried that just in case and it went through the process.
But still appears to be locked (emergency calls only).

I think I need to downgrade to iTunes 8.1.1 again ... which I have to search out.
