Hi All,
I'm looking to buy a super wide angle M42 lens (less than 24mm equiv and not fish-eye).
It will be used on a digital body. I essentially want something wider than the 18mm kit lens for land/seascapes.

I'm wondering if there is anything cheap out there (ie <$100), brand doesn't concern me, does anyone have any recommendations?

Wow, I've never seen anything like that before.

A little out of one's budget through :p

To broaden my options, could I be mounting old super-wide Nikon/Canon/Olympus lenses onto M42, or even the K mount with some adapters?

I know of a M42 to Nikon F mount, to use M42 lenses on Nikon bodies.

You can have a try, wether the old German Practicar lenses fit on your body. I revisited them on ebay, as my first 35 mm SLR was a Practica camera.
The lenses were sold under the labels Practicar, Practica, Pentacon, Zeiss for Practica.
They come with M42 mount and are a steal on ebay.
I saw 500 mm f5.4 lenses for 150,- EUR

Next time, I am in Germany, I get myself a M42 - Nikon F adapter and buy into some of this glass.
