If I can find a used 24" Imac locally (Denver area) then will get my feet wet with Apple...
Have been a PC user (Cow PC at the moment) for many years but ready to switch...
I would love to have the new 27" iMac but will wait for the USB-3 upgrade...
Looking for the 24" with the 3.06GHz & 1TB hard drive...
What would be a fair price?____
Also would like PhotoShop loaded (even an older version like PS-3)
Thanks in advance...
Bob

You could try checking out Apple's refurbished section. There aren't any 24" on right now, but keep checking because it is updated about daily.

I doubt you'll find an iMac with Photoshop preinstalled, but if you already have it on Windows you can contact Adobe they will send you the Mac version.

Looking at these prices I'd buy a new 21.5" and sell it in less than two years.

I was pondering a new 21.5, can buy it through Amazon for $1069 shipped & no tax...
The 500 gb HD would be big enough for a year or two...
I'd like a 27" for the higher 2560x1440 resolution BUT the 1920x1080 would probably be OK for PhotoShop..
My present Dell 21" LED has a resolution of 1680 x 1050...
Looks like the 21.5" has a sharper output than my Dell monitor...
Thanks for all your help...
Bob

Note... Does Apple charge tax on the shipped Refurbished iMacs??

Yes they do charge tax on the refurbs.

Are you sure that the 21.5" you were looking at on Amazon was the new one? For only a little more, you should go with the new i3 over the core 2 duo. The benchmarks on MacWorld show that the i3 is way faster.

I couldn't find anyone willing to sell their 24" iMac at a reasonable price. I went with the new base iMac.

Same here around Denver, the 24" is HIGH....

Guess I'll save up my change & buy a i3 21.5
Thanks

I am actually in Highlands Ranch myself and have been debating selling my excellent condition 24" C2D 2.93 with the 4850 Radeon graphics in order to fund the purchase of a new i7 27" iMac.

If you might be interested in this send me a PM. The last couple of these I've seen go on eBay have been priced at about $1200 but as I would not have to pay any Paypal or eBay fees maybe I could give you a bit of a better deal.
