I'm looking for an app, doesn't have to be free, that allows me to access my computer.

I know there's a lot of apps that allow me to access folders on my computer and open their files on my iPhone, but I'm looking for something that allows me to open the files on the Mac, not the iPhone.

Like, I tap the file and it basically is the same as double clicking the file on the Mac.

I have a Mac mini being used as a HTPC and it would be great if I didn't have to awkwardly sit on my couch with a mouse and navigate Finder, eyes-squinted, from 20 feet away. If I could just navigate the folders on my phone, click open, and they'd play, I'd be very, very happy!

You can use teamviewer, but wouldn't it be easier to buy a remote control and use front row?

Doesn't apple's remote app do that through iTunes?

Or, are you talking about non-iTunes files? In that case I think any of the remote desktop access apps should work, just find one you like.

Yeah, I'm talking about an app that allows me to open apps from Finder. Apps like iFiles and the like allow me to view files, but not open them on the home computer.

I do use VNC/remote desktop, but it's still not nearly as simple as seeing the lists of files such as in iFiles, and tapping on a file and having it open. In VNC solutions I still have to mouse about a 1080p screen on an iPhone, minimize or close the video player in order to get to Finder, etc. It's just not optimal.

So does anyone know of an app that allows me to open files from Finder?
